The Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed has transformed the Gallery restaurant at London’s iconic Sketch, revamping the interiors with marble floors and large-scale wall paintings. Every single piece of cutlery, glass, chair and table is different, with a mix of the mass produced and handcrafted. Creed also contributed to the kitchen, where the Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire designed a new menu influenced by his artwork and conceived two dishes dedicated to the artist.
The project, which seeks to blur the boundaries between art, food, design and functionality, has been celebrated by Eindhoven-based design duo Raw Color, who have created a series of graphic still lifes that sum up the dishes’ deconstructed ingredients. Their images are dedicated to the restaurant’s new menu, adding to this interesting art-gastronomy collaboration.
